22 Spite
@#$! Em.
Who you ask? All of the people that say you couldn’t do it, the ones who said it was impossible, the people that told you how dumb you were. The people who said you didn’t matter, the ones who lead to your shame or your embarrassment. Screw them and their ideas, I don’t care who says you can or cannot. And that voice that says you can’t do it, that you will never be good enough. Douce that voice in gasoline and throw it in a dumpster with a match. Then dance in the light of the flames.
Because you don’t need to be happy, happiness is just a fleeting feeling. No one is happy all the time. So don’t bother trying to be happy. Is your life hard? So what? Your personal circumstances don’t need to dictate what you can achieve. You’re alone? Get used to it, the road you're walking might be lonely, but that doesn’t mean it is wrong. You’re angry that you have all these negative emotions all the time. GOOD! Now turn that spite somewhere useful. Turn it to your feet and get out of bed. Turn it into your hands and do something, anything. Climb the mountains in your life, not because you want to, not because you feel like it, not because it's good, but because you can. Because no one ever thought better of you, because no one expected you to. DO IT ANYWAY. If you are thinking that “O, so and so really hurt me. I’m not sure I can ever trust, or love again because of them. Woo is me.” Get up, get out, and do it in spite of them.
