12 Snow
In the silence is the easiest time to see yourself.
Which is what the snow can do so easily. The winters in much of the north get very cold, and hopefully very white with snow. It has the possibility of making life miserable for an extended period of time, but I look at it as an opportunity to see the world in an entirely different way. Because when the trees die, the rain stops falling, and the world looks entirely different, is a time when strange things can happen.
Because the world has grown silent. When you go places, whether the woods or the stores, it seems like so often there are less and less people about. The snow heightens this effect. Because very people are crazy enough to venture out in the wilderness and the snow for an extended period of time. But more people should, because it is silent. In that silence, it is so easy to simply listen. Listen to yourself, to the world, to God, to maybe even nothing. But that is a type of silence that you so rarely see in the world. So embrace it, listen to it.
Allow yourself to be seen.
