17 New Books

Thanks for being here. I appreciate it a lot. Now, I will take this time to recommend you other books, (and, if you’re still having a good time here, read them after this one). These are in no particular order, they are just books that had an impact on me.

Hilda, by Luke Pearson. A series of graphic novels that will help to remind you of the wonder that is to be found in a day to day life, and that adventure is what you make it.

Ordinary men, by Christopher Browning. A book about Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution reminded me that all people are capable of great evil, and that personal choice and resistance matters.

Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer. A book about the wanderer who was Chris McCandless, a man who attempted to run from society and a brilliant meditation on nature and the purpose of life.

The Little Prince, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It is never too late to be a child, and to lose the wonder that you once clung to is a mistake.

The Housekeeper and the Professor, by Yōko Ogawa. A young woman is hired to be the Housekeeper for a brilliant math professor whose memory has been permanently trapped into a single day, forgetting everything every single night. It is an excellent meditation on how love and understanding can transcend barriers.
