24 Growing something new.
It starts small, it always does, it always will. When I started writing this book, it seemed like an incredibly daunting task, based on an average section length of 250 words each. My original estimate for this book is roughly 90,000 words long. That is, a very daunting task. Especially when you are staring at a completely blank document. But I kept doing it, clearly. Because growing something new takes so much time.
There is a lot of joy in working on growing new things. Because you are creating something from the toil of your own hands, and that is incredibly rewarding. Watching something grow a little bit at a time is just so very fun. Things like gardening can be so much fun, because it requires your absolute patience. You have to wait, you have to watch. You take care of and nurture this little thing as it progresses from a small seed, into something that produces you fruit.
Growing something new takes time, it takes patience, it takes perseverance. It takes you being able to invest into your future. Starting to grow something new is a statement that you are willing to invest into a day that is very far from now, that you are willing to take the time and effort out of your life to actually create something meaningful. That you will be around to see the fruits of your labor. So invest in growing something new.
